One small step for Nextbase, one giant leap for caravanning!

60 years ago, caravan designer and entrepreneur Sam Alper made history by undertaking a pioneering 4,500-mile caravan tour through Europe. But Alper, also the Founder of Little Chef, didn’t have the luxury of a Nextbase Dash Cam to capture his epic journey.

So, when a group of intrepid explorers from caravan and motorhome manufacturer Bailey of Bristol got in touch to say they were planning a similar tour but on an even more impressive, 21st Century scale – aiming to notch up 5,000 miles in two Bailey Pursuit caravans and Bailey Approach motorhome en route to the Arctic Circle – naturally we were more than happy to supply them with a range of our models so they could record their amazing journey.

And as you can see from these stunning images, it was well worth it.

The #ArcticAdventure team, led by caravan aficionado Lee Davey and accompanied by The Caravan and Motorhome Club in a motorhome, set off from the UK on 2 nd March. Over the course of two weeks they ticked off an impressive 12 countries, hitting France, Belgium, Germany, Poland, Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia before finally reaching Ivalo in northern Finland. The second half of the trip saw the team returning to the UK through Sweden, Denmark, Germany and Holland.

fter battling cold temperatures, icy conditions and treacherous roads, the team returned safely to the UK 16 days later.

On returning to the UK’s fair shores, Lee Davey commented: “Your dash cams continued to work faultlessly when we were 280km inside the Arctic Circle and even the suction cups remained in place! The video quality is incredibly good.”

Here at Nextbase, we’re delighted we were able to help and with the quality of the footage the Cams captured – see below.
